Operations

Initial Separation & Settling In:
We encourage orientation visits to our centre to familiarize both children and parents before the first day.  The separation anxiety to both children and parents is quite a normal feeling that may continue for a while and parents are welcome to stay as long as possible.

We suggest that before the first day of attendance, you explain to your child about childcare and the wonderful, happy times they will have there.  If you have any apprehensions or are unsure of what to do, please talk to one of our staff.

Arrival & Departure:
Please remember to sign your child in an out each day, including any absent days your child might have.

If you require another person (not named on your Enrolment Form) to collect your child in an emergency, please contact the Centre to make arrangements, the new contact person must show PhotoID for identification purposes.

Communication:
Parents are encouraged to regularly communicate with their child’s carers.  This can be in person, by phone or written messages in the communication books.  However, messages for the Director can be left in the locked fee box.

Noticeboards throughout the centre will display upcoming events and important information.  Personal information and monthly newsletters will be placed in each of the Parent Pockets available.

If you have any concerns regarding the care of your child, please talk to the Director or your child’s Group Leader. WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO ASSIST.

Weekly Fees & Payment Procedures:

Child Care Benefit may be available to you.  Please ask at Reception about the procedure for claiming CCB.

An enrolment fee of $25 is payable on enrolment and is non-refundable.  It will cover the cost of the Centre T-Shirt and SunSmart Hat.

A FEE BOX is located near the office and parents are able to pay cash, EFTPOS or BPAY.

Fees are payable for SICK DAYS and PUBLIC HOLIDAYS, and two weeks notice is required for family holidays to claim the 50% Holiday Holding Rate.  Cancellation of care requires two weeks written notice.

Child Care Benefit

Child Care Benefit is a subsidy provided by the Commonwealth Government to approved long day care child care centres, family day care schemes, registered carers, outside school hours care programs and occasional care services.  This subsidy is then used to reduce the amount that parents are required to pay to the centre.  Parents may apply for Child Care Benefits through their local Family Assistance Office on 136150 and quoting our provider number which you can obtain from the Centre Director.

Child Care Benefits are based on each family’s income and the onus is on each family to ensure they have a current Assessment Notice in order to receive the benefit.  Full fees will be charged if you don not have a current assessment.  In order to receive Child Care Benefits, parents must sign each child in and out every day they attend care.  On return to the centre after any absences, parents also must sign the attendance sheets indicating a reason why the child was away to ensure that Child Care Benefits is given during the absence
